Learning path 02 · Qur’an
Grow closer to the Qur’an
A daily ayah, a Friday habit and one short surah a month — a relationship with the Book that lasts.
- 5 to 10 minutes a day
- One month, then repeat
- Any level
- 3 steps
This path is for you if…
- You open the Qur’an mostly in Ramadan.
- You want a daily habit that is small enough to keep.
- You would like to memorise a short surah.
By the end, you will…
- A daily ayah, read slowly with its meaning.
- Surah Al-Kahf as a weekly Friday habit.
- One short surah memorised and recited in your salah.
The plan
Step by step.
This path is for anyone who wants the Qur’an to be part of every day, not only of Ramadan. A single ayah, read slowly with its meaning, is a better start than a long reading you cannot keep up.
Use the Qur’an links on this site to read each ayah in its full context, and use the bookmark in the reader to keep your place.
- 1
Every morning
Read one ayah with its translation every morning.
Choose a surah and read one ayah a day, in Arabic and in English. Read it slowly, twice. Then write down one word or idea that stays with you. Bookmark the ayah in our reader so you can continue from the same place tomorrow.
Tips
- Read at the same time each day, for example straight after Fajr.
- If you have more time, read the ayat around it so you keep it in context.
- 2
Every Friday
Keep Surah Al-Kahf as your Friday habit.
Read Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, in one sitting or spread across the day. Our guide explains the Friday reading and the four stories of the surah, so you know what you are reading.
Tips
- Split it into four parts and read one after each of four prayers.
- Bookmark where you stop, so a busy Friday never ends the habit.
- 3
This month
Choose one short surah to memorise this month.
Choose one short surah, such as one of the last three surahs of the Qur’an, and learn a few words each day. When you know it, recite it in your salah, so it stays with you.
Tips
- Listen to the surah several times before you start to memorise it.
- Repeat yesterday’s words before you add new ones.
Common questions
Before you begin.
I cannot read Arabic yet. Can I still follow this path?
Yes. Read the English for now and listen to the Arabic, then learn the letters step by step. Our tajweed guide is a gentle place to start.
Which surah should I begin with?
Al-Fatihah, which you already recite in every prayer, and then the short surahs at the end of the Qur’an.
What do I do at the end of the month?
Keep the daily ayah and the Friday habit, and choose the next short surah. The path is meant to repeat.
