Zakat calculator

Add up what you own, take away debts that are due now, and compare the result with the nisab. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

1. What you own

Use today’s values, in one currency.

2. What you owe now
3. The nisab

The nisab is the minimum wealth on which zakat is due. It is measured by the value of gold or silver, commonly given as about 85–87.5 g of gold or about 595–612 g of silver. Enter its value in your currency today; your local masjid or a zakat body can tell you the figure they use.

A guide, not a fatwa. Zakat is due at 2.5% on zakatable wealth that has stayed at or above the nisab for one lunar year. Scholars differ on details such as jewellery that is worn, retirement funds, property and how to count debts. For your own situation, please ask a scholar you trust.
