بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِAyah 1
88:1Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌAyah 2
88:2[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,
عَامِلَةٌۭ نَّاصِبَةٌۭAyah 3
88:3Working [hard] and exhausted.
تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةًۭAyah 4
88:4They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍۢAyah 5
88:5They will be given drink from a boiling spring.
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍۢAyah 6
88:6For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant
لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍۢAyah 7
88:7Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاعِمَةٌۭAyah 8
88:8[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.
لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۭAyah 9
88:9With their effort [they are] satisfied
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢAyah 10
88:10In an elevated garden,
لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةًۭAyah 11
88:11Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.
فِيهَا عَيْنٌۭ جَارِيَةٌۭAyah 12
88:12Within it is a flowing spring.
فِيهَا سُرُرٌۭ مَّرْفُوعَةٌۭAyah 13
88:13Within it are couches raised high
وَأَكْوَابٌۭ مَّوْضُوعَةٌۭAyah 14
88:14And cups put in place
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌۭAyah 15
88:15And cushions lined up
وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌAyah 16
88:16And carpets spread around.
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْAyah 17
88:17Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْAyah 18
88:18And at the sky - how it is raised?
وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْAyah 19
88:19And at the mountains - how they are erected?
وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْAyah 20
88:20And at the earth - how it is spread out?
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌۭAyah 21
88:21So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.
لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍAyah 22
88:22You are not over them a controller.
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَAyah 23
88:23However, he who turns away and disbelieves -
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَAyah 24
88:24Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْAyah 25
88:25Indeed, to Us is their return.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمAyah 26
88:26Then indeed, upon Us is their account.
