بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِAyah 1
85:1By the sky containing great stars
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِAyah 2
85:2And [by] the promised Day
وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢAyah 3
85:3And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,
قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِAyah 4
85:4Cursed were the companions of the trench
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِAyah 5
85:5[Containing] the fire full of fuel,
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭAyah 6
85:6When they were sitting near it
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭAyah 7
85:7And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِAyah 8
85:8And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌAyah 9
85:9To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِAyah 10
85:10Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُAyah 11
85:11Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌAyah 12
85:12Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُAyah 13
85:13Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُAyah 14
85:14And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُAyah 15
85:15Honorable Owner of the Throne,
فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُAyah 16
85:16Effecter of what He intends.
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِAyah 17
85:17Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَAyah 18
85:18[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢAyah 19
85:19But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢAyah 20
85:20While Allah encompasses them from behind.
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭAyah 21
85:21But this is an honored Qur'an
فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭAyah 22
85:22[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
